23.04.2020 / TUKAN 3000 IN PROGRESS – THE THIRD ARDELT CRANE FOR ELBEHAFEN, AND THE FIFTH IN TOTAL FOR BRUNSBÜTTEL PORTS
The new TUKAN has a capacity of 120 tonnes, and will contribute towards the overall efficiency of Elbehafen. The new crane will double the current lifting capacity from 120 tonnes to 240 tonnes in tandem lift. Thus Brunsbüttel Ports will establish another essential core competence in heavy cargo. The new double jib level-luffing crane will replace the current ship unloader used for bulk cargo. It will be possible for the port to handle still larger volumes of goods in future with more flexibility and customer focus. The Tukan has a maximum outreach of 63 meters allowing a higher volume of goods to be handled in transhipment.
Frank Schnabel, Managing Director of Brunsbüttel Ports/SCHRAMM group comments: “The new Ardelt double jib level-luffing crane will strengthen our port strategy in the handling of dry bulk, general and project cargo. With the use of the newest technology the crane will contribute to a lower carbon footprint thanks to very high energy efficiency and a very low noise emission. With a million Euro investment funded by our private harbour the future expansion of our handling-portfolio is secured with the new crane.”
